What is the Hong Kong Essentials Pass?
The Hong Kong Essentials Pass from Go City gives you access to three of the city's most important sights - at a fixed price, without having to book a comprehensive sightseeing package.
You first choose one of the two top attractions: the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car with Ngong Ping Village Experiences or the Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour (Discover Ticket). You can then combine these with two other highlights from a selection of seven attractions. These include the Peak Tram Special Combo, a Dim Sum Set Menu, the Macau Tower Observation Deck and the Aberdeen Sampan and Seafood Market Tour.
The Hong Kong Essentials Pass is valid for 30 days from the first visit and can be canceled free of charge for 90 days until activation. Go City also offers a savings guarantee: if you don't save compared to individual tickets, Go City will refund the difference. This makes the Hong Kong Essentials Pass ideal for a short trip where you want to visit the most important highlights - without having to book tickets individually.

Frequently asked questions about the Hong Kong Essentials Pass
How long is the Hong Kong Essentials Pass valid for?
The Hong Kong Essentials Pass is valid for 30 days from the first visit. The 30 days start with your first visit to an attraction. After purchase, you have a whole year to activate the Essentials Pass.
Can I cancel the Essentials Pass free of charge?
Yes, you can cancel the Essentials Pass free of charge within 90 days of the date of purchase - as long as it has not yet been activated. Once you have presented the Hong Kong Essentials Pass at the first attraction, it is considered activated and can no longer be refunded.
Do I have to book attractions in advance?
Advance booking is required for three attractions: Dim Sum Set Menu, Macau Tower Observation Deck and Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Bookings can be made directly via the Go City app and are free of charge.
The two top attractions (Ngong Ping 360 and Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Tour) do not require a reservation.
Is the Hong Kong Essentials Pass really worth it?
Yes, in most cases. Three top attractions individually cost between HK$752 and HK$1,075. With the Hong Kong Essentials Pass you always pay HK$749 - that's a saving of up to HK$326 (30 %) per person, depending on your choice. Go City also offers a savings guarantee: if you don't save compared to buying a single ticket, Go City will refund you the difference.
Which attractions can I choose?
You do not commit to individual attractions at the time of purchase. The Hong Kong Essentials Pass includes three admissions that you can freely allocate to attractions - you only make the decision on site or via the app. One condition applies: one of the three entries must be used for one of the two top attractions (Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car or Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Tour). You can choose the other two freely from seven other attractions.
How do I connect the Essentials Pass to the app?
After your purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with a confirmation code. Download the Go City app from the App Store or Google Play and enter the code. The Essentials Pass will then be synchronized with your account. Synchronization does not yet activate the Hong Kong Essentials Pass - the 30-day validity only starts when you visit an attraction for the first time.
Can I buy the Essentials Pass for several people?
Yes, you choose the number of adults and children when purchasing. Each person gets their own digital Essentials Pass in the app. Children from 3 to 11 years old pay HK$549 instead of HK$749. Children under the age of 3 usually do not need a ticket - but the exact rules depend on the attraction.
Is public transportation included?
No. MTR, Star Ferry and streetcar are not included in the Hong Kong Essentials Pass. For public transport in Hong Kong, we recommend an Octopus Card, which you can buy at any MTR station or order online in advance as a Tourist Octopus.
How much does the Explorer Pass cost in comparison?
The Explorer Pass and the All-Inclusive Pass cost the same in Hong Kong: HK$849 per adult. The Explorer Pass offers access to 24 attractions (you choose 3 to 7), the All-Inclusive Pass to 22 attractions (use on 1 to 4 consecutive days). The Hong Kong Essentials Pass with HK$749 is the cheapest option if you want to visit exactly three top attractions.
